What this is
TallyTakeoff is a set of free material takeoff and cost calculators for home improvement projects: flooring, paint, drywall, concrete, pavers, and outdoor materials. Put in your measurements, get back a materials list — boxes, bags, sheets, or tons — and a cost estimate you can print and take to the store.
Why it exists
Most calculator pages online hand you a single number with no visible formula, no stated source, and a "get quotes" form bolted on afterward. That's the opposite of what's useful when you're standing in a flooring aisle trying to decide whether to buy nine boxes or ten. Every TallyTakeoff calculator shows its formula, its assumptions, and where the price basis comes from, in the open, on the same page as the result — see the full methodology.
How it's paid for
TallyTakeoff is supported by display advertising, not by selling leads to contractors and not by a paywall. There is no account and no email gate on any calculator.
Who's behind it
TallyTakeoff is independently owned and operated by Vahid, a solo publisher. Content and calculators are written and maintained collectively as TallyTakeoff Editorial — no individual bylines, no invented credentials, no stock-photo "experts." What stands behind each number is not a persona but the sourcing process on the methodology page: published coverage rates, named reference categories, hand-checked worked examples, and editable defaults with a visible review date.
